I am ecstatic to write this testimonial, but first I give all Praise and Honor to God for having the financial ability to pay for the 6-week workshop AND the www.counselingexam simulation. I took the exam on yesterday, 10-15-2022 and passed on my first try. Not that the scores are important because it is a pass or fail test, but I scored more than 20 plus points higher than the passing score. I say this to let potential purchases know that the program helps immensely. Bart is a GREAT teacher and takes his times to explain “why” and “how” about diagnosis and info gathering. He even stayed past the two hour weekly SIM sessions sometimes when we needed it. I must say that for me, had I not had the simulations on the counselingexam website where I could practice, get familiar and comfortable I would not have passed because of my test anxiety (which Bart will go over). The SIMS are 99% the same as the actual exam.
I know that effective the end of this month the exam format will be changing, but I can assure you that these two resources will STILL be your best bet to pass because Bart and Dr. Hutchinson will put the same effort in these resources for the new “Narrative” format as they did this one – so follow their directions. You must do as many simulations as possible AND know the information and why you missed answers. I just graduated May 2022 and now that this exam is behind me I feel so much more at ease – again test anxiety – and now I can focus on working with my clients during resident to get the experience/wisdom and hours I need to become a licensed counselor in Virginia.
